Remote alarm system unveiled

THE US subsidiary of AnsaldoSTS, Union Switch & Signal, displayed its new TransPortal Remote, a digital alarm notification system for managing level crossing and lineside equipment remotely. This should help to reduce train delays and the need for staff to visit remote locations.

TransPortal Remote is designed to alert staff to alarms by continuously monitoring analog and digital information channels. It also has an event recorder which records every crossing activation and train movement.

Users can access images from a level crossing from any browser. The device can also be used to configure or upgrade systems remotely, or access remote audio-visual data.
